Black British City Group
Basic Information
Founded in 2015, BBCG has and continues to meet its charitable objects through impact initiatives, leveraging its members’ resources, providing a forum that enriches its members’ professional support networks and facilitating the cross-pollination of members’ ideas.
Additionally, BBCG also has a dedicated “impact” function under which members support local charities and businesses, as well as Afro-Caribbean students.
The decision by its founders to establish BBCG was in response to their observations and first-hand experiences of the economic and social issues disproportionately affecting Black communities in the UK, and the perceived lack of black role models and peers in the professions they had embarked on.
The clearest solution was to form a professional community that allowed Black British professionals to leverage their skills in support of their communities. Since then, we have recruited over 60 members who benefit from opportunities to develop their network of peers, mentors and clients.
